FBI Releases Photos of Charlie Kirk Assassination Suspect

The FBI’s Salt Lake City field office released photos Thursday of a “person of interest” connected to the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Federal agents are asking the public for help in identifying the individual as the investigation intensifies.

Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said the suspected shooter “appears to be of college age,” and confirmed that law enforcement worked through the night to review surveillance footage and collect evidence. The images released were captured by multiple security cameras near the scene of the shooting at Utah Valley University.

FBI Special Agent Robert Bohls revealed that agents recovered the rifle believed to have been used in the attack—a bolt-action firearm found in a nearby wooded area. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the ammunition located with the weapon was allegedly engraved with transgender-related messages, further fueling speculation about the shooter’s possible political or ideological motivations.

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed Wednesday while answering questions at a campus event. His murder has sent shockwaves through the conservative movement and the broader political landscape. President Donald Trump and leaders across the country have called for justice and prayer, while growing concerns mount over political violence in America.

The FBI has not confirmed the identity of the shooter or released information about whether the suspect is in custody. Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact the FBI immediately.

As tensions rise and more details emerge, the public remains on edge, awaiting answers in one of the most politically charged acts of violence in recent years.
