The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced multiple arrests and deportations of illegal aliens involved in severe criminal offenses against minors. Described by officials as the “worst of the worst,” these individuals have now been removed from the United States under strengthened immigration enforcement policies.
Pedro Trejo Reyes, a Mexican national, was arrested in Houston by ICE on July 17. He had been convicted in 2011 for repeatedly abusing a 12-year-old relative, which tragically led to a pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage. After serving a 16-year sentence, Reyes was deported following a removal order issued in 2011.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “As the media and politicians continue to carry water for criminal illegal aliens who have committed indescribable acts of evil in our country, the brave men and women of ICE are arresting and removing the worst of the worst from the U.S.” She added that under President Trump and Secretary Noem, the department is focused on making the nation safer.
Another arrest involved Edwin Jacobo Hernandez Mateo, a Honduran national charged in Waller County, Texas, with the abuse of a minor under 14. He remains in ICE custody in Montgomery County.
Other recent arrests of convicted offenders include:
- Juan Gabriel Zamorano-Gutierrez, a Mexican national convicted in California.
- Edmundo Vasquez-Gaxiola, also from Mexico, convicted in Pennsylvania after years of abuse against a minor.
- Kelvin Civil, a Haitian national, convicted of multiple charges in Massachusetts.
- Elmer Breve-Sanchez, from Honduras, convicted in Texas for smuggling-related crimes.
These actions reflect the Trump administration’s renewed efforts to secure the border and remove criminal aliens posing a threat to communities across the nation.
