Karina Lipsman Sounds the Alarm on NYC’s Radical Turn

Karina Lipsman, a Republican congressional candidate and Soviet refugee, voiced alarm over New York City’s growing support for a self-proclaimed socialist mayoral candidate, calling it “scary” but not surprising. Speaking on Breitbart News Daily, Lipsman warned that the normalization of socialist ideologies among younger voters threatens America’s foundational liberties.

Lipsman, who is running in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District special election, cited her experience working with the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation to underline the danger. “It’s like, oh, wow, we’re about to elect a communist as the mayor of New York City. Maybe,” said host Mike Slater, to which Lipsman responded, “New York has elected an antisemite and also a self-proclaimed socialist communist.”

She highlighted alarming generational shifts, noting that nearly 30 percent of Generation Z now sympathizes with socialist or communist regimes. “That is our biggest voter bloc,” Lipsman said. “The more people they elect into office, the more likely we are to go down the path of communism.”

Lipsman fled the former Soviet Union and immigrated to the U.S. as a child. She stressed the dangers of government control under communist rule, saying, “You have no freedoms and liberties.” Her personal experience, she argued, gives her the unique ability to confront socialist candidates directly.

“If Democrats do end up putting a socialist or a communist representative up on their side, I can go head to head with them,” she said. “I can tell you how terrible this ideology is and how deadly it is.”

Lipsman’s warning comes as concerns mount about the direction of left-leaning urban centers and the influence of socialism on younger American voters.
