CNN’s Jake Tapper, once a leading media defender of Joe Biden’s visibly deteriorating mental and physical state, is now rebranding himself as an objective reporter—just in time for a book launch. After years of attacking conservatives for raising legitimate concerns about Biden’s capacity, Tapper now pretends those concerns were always valid.
Tapper, often seen echoing White House talking points, remained a reliable media shield throughout Biden’s first term. From dismissing Biden’s verbal confusion as a stutter to excusing frequent physical mishaps, Tapper repeated the administration’s narrative without hesitation. He attacked Republicans for highlighting the president’s obvious cognitive decline, framing it as partisan slander instead of addressing the facts.
Now that Biden’s public appearances continue to raise serious questions, Tapper is shedding his necktie and posturing as a truth-teller. But this transformation doesn’t erase four years of complicity. Tapper and other corporate media figures had front-row seats to the same Biden the American public saw—frequently confused, often incoherent, and visibly frail. Yet they stayed silent or combative toward anyone who spoke out.
Tapper’s timing raises questions. His sudden turn toward criticism arrived only after Biden’s weaknesses became undeniable during public debates and international appearances. The shift conveniently coincides with promotional efforts for his new book, suggesting opportunism rather than journalistic integrity.
The idea that Tapper and his colleagues were fooled by Biden’s handlers strains credibility. Their refusal to investigate or even acknowledge glaring issues signals alignment with a political agenda, not the pursuit of truth. The corporate media’s role wasn’t passive; it was willful.
As Tapper seeks to reposition himself now, his years of selective reporting and partisan shielding remain part of the public record. Removing his tie won’t remove that stain. Trust in the media erodes when journalists like Tapper play partisan games while claiming objectivity. No late-stage pivot can undo years of deception meant to protect Democrat power at the expense of public trust.
