New Pope Revealed as American Robert Prevost

After several rounds of voting, a new pope has been selected.

American Robert Prevost, the first pontiff in history to come from the United States, will be known as Pope Leo XIV. The announcement follows white smoke coming from the Sistine Chapel, signaling the selection of a new pope.

“Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum,” it was declared upon revealing the new pope, which translates to, “I announce to you news of great joy.”

“Habemus Papam!” the statement continued. “Eminentissimum ac Reverendissimum Dominum Sanctae Romanae Ecclesia Cardinalem. Qui sibi nomen imposuit.”

The statement translates to: “We have a pope! He is the most eminent and reverend Lord Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church who has taken the name – “

In his first statement as pope, Leo XIV said, “Peace be with you all. “This is the first greetings of the resurrected Christ, the good shepherd who has given up his life for God. And I should also like this greeting of peace to enter our hearts and our families.”

“Let us keep in our ears the weak voice of Pope Francis that blesses Rome. The Pope who blessed Rome, gave his blessing to the entire world that morning of Easter. Allow me to follow up on that blessing. God loves us. God loves everyone. Evil will not prevail,” he said in Italian, according to reports.

Pope Leo XIV will succeed the late Pope Francis, who passed away at the age of 88 after suffering a stroke, which led to heart failure.

This is a developing story.
