Trump Wisconsin Voter ID Amendment, Urges Support

President Donald Trump is urging Wisconsin voters to support a proposed state constitutional amendment requiring voter ID, which appears on the April 1 ballot. In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump called the referendum “very important,” emphasizing the need to strengthen election integrity.

Wisconsin already mandates photo identification at the polls, but adding it to the state Constitution would make the requirement more resistant to legal challenges. Trump’s executive order last week reinforced voter ID measures nationwide by requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration and prohibiting states from counting mail-in ballots received after Election Day. Some groups have vowed to challenge the order in court.

Trump also pushed for additional election security measures, including banning drop boxes and enforcing same-day voting with paper ballots. “This, and other Election Integrity measures, can only happen if you GET OUT AND VOTE!” he wrote.

Beyond voter ID, Trump endorsed Republican Brad Schimel in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race against liberal judge Susan Crawford. He warned that Crawford “will be one of the most Liberal Judges ever elected, which would be a DISASTER for Wisconsin and the United States of America.”

The president has also been actively supporting Florida candidates Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine in a special election to fill congressional vacancies. The seats were left open after National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and former Rep. Matt Gaetz stepped down, with Gaetz briefly considered for U.S. attorney general before withdrawing from consideration.

With voter ID and judicial control on the line, Wisconsin’s April 1 election has drawn national attention as conservatives push to secure election integrity measures and maintain influence in key state courts.
