Kamala Harris Signs with Talent Agency

Former Vice President Kamala Harris signed with a Hollywood talent agency to focus on “speaking engagements and publishing.”

The Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which also partners with former President Joe Biden, said in a statement that it will “work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout decades-long career in public service.”

CAA’s website describes itself as the “first talent agency to build a sports business, create an investment bank, launch a venture fund, found technology start-up companies, establish a business in China, create a brand marketing services business, and launch a philanthropic arm, among other industry innovations.”

“It is also our goal to lead the way in diversity, advocating with marketplace buyers for talent from historically underrepresented groups – and for the cultural and commercial value of inclusion,” its website says.

Earlier this month, CAA co-chairman Richard Lovett announced that the agency partnered with Biden. “President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” Lovett said on February 3. “His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”

A November poll from the University of California at Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies and co-sponsored by the Los Angeles Times found that almost half of California voters would support Vice President Kamala Harris if she ran for California Governor.

According to the poll, 72% of Democrats would be likely or somewhat likely to support Harris. Among Republicans and Independents, 8% and 38%, respectively, said they would be likely or somewhat likely to support Harris in a possible gubernatorial run.
