Trump’s ICE Raids Crush Criminal Illegal Networks

As Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) intensifies its enforcement efforts, thousands of illegal immigrants, including convicted criminals and gang members, have been taken into custody. Several major arrests occurred Monday as part of the Trump administration’s renewed push for border security and law enforcement.

Since President Donald Trump took office, ICE has made at least 4,829 arrests as of January 29, averaging 753 arrests per day in late January. Among those taken into custody was Sergio Arquimides Pineda, an MS-13 gang member and aggravated felon arrested in Corpus Christi, Texas. Pineda had previously been convicted of assault and had an outstanding deportation order since 2015.

In Miami, ICE apprehended Dario Gonzalez, a Cuban national who had served ten years in prison for lewd acts with a minor. Another major arrest took place in Baltimore, where agents detained Silvester Kagwe Akola, a Kenyan citizen convicted of robbery and sentenced to ten years in prison.

Houston ICE officers arrested Jorge Hernandez, a Mexican national convicted of sexual assault, while in Cincinnati, authorities apprehended Ciro Teodoro-Rivera, a registered sex offender with prior convictions for sexual imposition and aggravated assault. Juan Ramos-Alonzo, a Guatemalan national convicted of child sex crimes, was also arrested in Dallas.

These enforcement actions mark a stark shift from the Biden administration’s lax immigration policies, which resulted in 8.5 million migrant encounters at the southern border, including 120,000 encounters with criminal non-citizens. Trump’s administration remains committed to restoring law and order and prioritizing public safety through targeted deportations.
