The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported 7,300 illegal immigrants in the first week of President Donald Trump’s second term. Many of those deported were violent criminals.
“In the first week of the Trump Administration, we have fulfilled President Trump’s promise to the American people to arrest and deport violent criminals illegally in the country. In one week, law enforcement officials have removed and returned 7,300 illegal aliens,” ICE said in a statement.
In a video shared on social media, ICE noted that deportation flights have begun returning migrants to countries such as Mexico, Jordan, Brazil, and El Salvador.
“Ensuring Americans’ safety and securing the border is President Trump’s and Secretary Noem’s top priority,” ICE declared.
On Monday, ICE reported that it made 1,179 arrests.
Following a suspected cartel member firing at a U.S. Border Patrol agent, Border Czar Tom Homan announced that the government would “dismantle” cartel groups.
“It’s going to get worse Sean, because President Trump is going to seal that border. He’s going to put the cartels out of business. He declared them a terrorist organization,” Homan told Sean Hannity. “We got the whole of government is going to dismantle these people and wipe them off the face of the earth. They are not going to go lightly.”
“We are taking them on in the trafficking business, we’re taking them on in the smuggling business and we’re taking them on in the dope business,” he said. “There’s going to be more violence on the southwest border, that’s why Trump committed to calling them a terrorist organization. He has.”
“That’s why the entire United States government is going to take care of those people and abolish them. We’re going to attack them not just in Mexico, but in the 42 countries the Jalisco Cartel is currently residing in,” Homan noted.
“The Trump administration is going to take them on, just like he did the Caliphate, and we’re going to destroy them.”
Last week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order designating cartels and other organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists.
