China announced that it added four U.S. companies to its “Unreliable Entity List” for their arms sales to Taiwan.
The companies blacklisted include Pacific Rim Defense, AEVEX Aerospace, LKD Aerospace, and Summit Technologies Inc, according to the Global Times. On Tuesday, seven other companies were blacklisted: Inter-Coastal Electronics, System Studies & Simulation, IronMountain Solutions, Applied Technologies Group, Axient, Anduril Industries, and Maritime Tactical Systems.
The companies’ senior executives will be “banned from entering China, their work permits and visitor or residency status revoked, and any related applications they submit will not be approved,” the Chinese outlet said.
In December, President Joe Biden announced the “$571.3 million in defense articles and services of the Department of Defense, and military education and training, to provide assistance to Taiwan.”
Upon news of the aid, Taiwan’s foreign ministry said in a statement, “We welcome #US government approval of arms sales totaling US$295M to #Taiwan, reaffirming its commitment to our defense in line with the #TaiwanRelationsAct & #SixAssurances. We continue to strengthen our self-defense & bilateral security ties to secure #IndoPacific peace.”
American Faith reported that numerous U.S. companies have been sanctioned by China, including Insitu Inc., Hudson Technologies Co., Saronic Technologies, Inc., Raytheon Canada, Raytheon Australia, Aerkomm Inc., and Oceaneering International Inc.
“Recently, the United States announced another substantial military assistance and arms sale to China’s Taiwan region. Its ‘National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025’ includes multiple negative sections on China. These seriously violate the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. Joint Communiqués, interfere in China’s internal affairs, and undermine China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a December 27 statement.
