Trump Rules Out JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon for Administration Role

President-elect Donald Trump confirmed Thursday that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon will not be part of his upcoming administration. Trump praised Dimon’s work but clarified he has no plans to include the banking executive in his administration.

Trump posted online, saying, “I respect Jamie Dimon, of JPMorgan Chase, greatly, but he will not be invited to be a part of the Trump Administration.”

The decision ends speculation after a source told Reuters last week that Dimon could potentially be considered for a role, following discussions among Trump’s advisers. Dimon, who has been outspoken about certain economic policies, has led JPMorgan Chase since 2005 and is known for steering the bank through the 2008 financial crisis.

Trump has yet to announce his choice for Treasury Secretary. Current leading contenders include Howard Lutnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, and investor Scott Bessent.

Trump’s economic appointments will likely reflect his campaign focus on job creation, deregulation, and strengthening U.S. business, though it appears Dimon’s high-profile banking experience will remain within the private sector.
