The January 6 Pardon Coalition launched a national petition demanding the release of those incarcerated following the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol protest.
“It is time for us to demand justice and freedom for the most persecuted group of Americans in history,” the petition says.
“The January 6 Political Prisoners have suffered far too long – some going four years without trial, without justice, and without accountability for the outrageous violation of their rights. Their only crime was exercising their First Amendment rights, protesting the 2020 election results, and voicing their belief in the sanctity of our Constitutional Republic,” it reads. “For this, they have been branded criminals, dragged through a broken legal system, and subjected to inhumane conditions. No one should be left to rot in the gulag for standing up for their country.”
The petition’s signatories are “calling on President Donald J. Trump to fulfill his promise of justice by releasing all 1561 individuals still languishing in jail, none were given a fair trial with biased DC Jury Pools, or even a proper defense – victims of a Two Tiered justice system & the hyper Weaponized DOJ.”
“This petition is not just about the past—it is about ensuring that such a travesty of justice never happens again,” the petition adds. “Our country must return to its founding principles of liberty, freedom of speech, and due process. Every American, regardless of their political beliefs, deserves to have their rights protected.”
FBI and CIA personnel were positioned during the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol event, according to released videos and messages.
Messages obtained by Judicial Watch via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) reveal that the CIA positioned “several” teams on January 6.
In one of the messages, “two CIA bomb techs” were working on a “pipe bomb scene on New Jersey and D ST SE,” the location where two pipe bombs were reportedly found.
Another series of messages read, “What was the final in the devices real or not [redacted].” An individual writes: “Clearing Capitol now with bomb techs. Lots of damage.” The other person states the situation is “scary” and “sad,” adding, “Thx for keeping me in the loop brother. I was able to get I [sic] go to my team and the Director before they heard it from outside sources.”
Agents wrote in other messages, “Just made contact with [redacted] FBI is reporting an additional 3 possible devices for a total of 5 now.” A response reads: “Do you have the locations of the other devices?” The reply stated: “Not yet, the FBI is going to pass it on. I believe one was located at the gates to the Power Plant.”
The FBI had so many “Confidential Human Sources” (CHSs) from various field offices at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, that they “lost count,” according to a New York Post report.
FBI Director Christopher Wray avoided discussing the presence of FBI operatives during the Capitol protest.
