NBC News said the presidential election results could be delayed as Nevada may take up to a week to count their votes.
“So, she wins North Carolina; we could be living here in Nevada waiting and waiting and waiting,” NBC News’s Chuck Todd said. “And, if you remember, Nevada will take a week to count all their votes.”
He added that “more ballots” will be coming in.
“This is going to be lawyers upon lawyers litigating which ballots can get fixed,” Todd further noted.
The Harris campaign similarly said that election results will likely take several days to come in.
Campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon told reporters, according to The Hill, that the “race is going to be incredibly close. So, we may not know the results of this election for several days, but we are very focused on staying calm and confident throughout this period as the process goes through. And we really know that we as a campaign have a really important role to play in keeping people calm and communicating and being transparent about our process.”
“Keep in mind that some ballots will continue to be counted for many days,” she added.
