Silicon Valley Billionaire Backs Trump Over Israel Support

Mark Pincus, billionaire founder of the gaming company Zynga and a longtime Democrat, has announced his support for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, citing Trump’s strong support for Israel as a key reason for his endorsement.

Pincus, known for creating the popular social games company Zynga, joined a growing number of Silicon Valley figures who are unexpectedly aligning with Trump despite the tech community’s traditionally liberal leanings. Pincus’s decision reflects a broader trend in Silicon Valley, where some tech leaders are shifting support to Trump, driven largely by dissatisfaction with the Biden administration’s foreign policy and economic approach.

Pincus’s announcement has generated significant attention, as he has historically supported Democratic presidential candidates and contributed over a million dollars to past Democratic campaigns, including that of Biden-Harris. However, in recent months, his outlook on the political landscape has shifted, with concerns over the Biden administration’s approach to both Middle Eastern policy and its handling of the economy.

In his statement, Pincus expressed his belief that Trump’s policies align better with his views on national security and international relations, specifically regarding maintaining a strong alliance with Israel.

The endorsement from influential figures like Pincus, who maintains considerable sway within tech circles, underscores how the 2024 election has revealed unexpected fractures within Silicon Valley’s typically Democratic-leaning ranks.
