Harris Campaign’s ‘Agenda for Black Men’ Open to Others

The Harris campaign announced that the “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” is open to other Americans.

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the agenda “will be open to all Americans on a race-neutral basis.”

A campaign aide told the outlet that Vice President Kamala Harris is “clear-eyed about how Black men have long been denied the tools that would allow them to grow their wealth, get a good-paying job and support their loved ones—she is championing solutions that will benefit all Americans and address these specific barriers to economic opportunity.”

The initiative proposed one million loans “fully forgivable” up to $20,000 to black entrepreneurs.

“Vice President Harris will build an Opportunity Economy where everyone has the opportunity to not just get by, but to get ahead,” a document describing the proposal reads. “She knows that Black men have long felt that too often their voice in our political process has gone unheard and that there is so much untapped ambition and leadership within the Black male community.”

The program will also champion “education, training, and mentorship programs that help Black men get good-paying jobs in high-demand industries and lead their communities, including pathways to become teachers” and support a “regulatory framework for cryptocurrency and other digital assets so Black men who invest in and own these assets are protected.”
