ESPN Fantasy Football prohibited teams from naming themselves, “White Lives Matter,” although it permitted the name, “Black Lives Matter.”
It appeared that only “White Lives Matter” was targeted, as “Jewish Lives Matter” was permitted.
Fans discovered that “White Lives Matter” was prohibited when a banner appeared on the screen reading, “Team name/abbreviation contains a banned word.”
According to Outkick, ESPN allows the word “Hamas” but not “Nazi.”
The outlet reached out to ESPN for a list of banned words and phrases, but did not immediately hear back.
