Arizona law enforcement arrested a man allegedly threatening to shoot Donald Trump.
Cochise County Sheriff’s Office released an image of Ronald Lee Syrvud on Thursday, saying he is wanted for threats to kill a presidential candidate.
Trump reportedly learned about the threat against him from a Daily Mail correspondent, who asked the former president, “There’s a manhunt going on in this county, somebody made death threats to you. Did you hear about that before coming?”
“What are your thoughts coming down here? Some people told me it’s dangerous for you to be here,” the reporter asked.
“I heard its dangerous, but I also have a job to do,” Trump responded. “I heard it’s very dangerous. I haven’t heard about that. They probably want to keep it from me.”
Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels told the Daily Mail that Syrvud is a “registered sex offender here in Cochise County, and we were looking for him.”
“He’s out of compliance as part of his violations. So we’re looking for him on that,” he explained. “We’re going to arrest him on that. But also the fact his pulse was obviously directed toward this event. So we want to talk to him about that.”
