President Joe Biden’s recent speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) has sparked controversy and debate after he made a statement that some interpret as an inadvertent admission of the administration’s stance on immigration policy.
During his address, Biden said, “Kamala and I are committed to strengthening illegal immigration.”
Intentional or not, this statement reveals the administration’s underlying approach to immigration policy, which favors looser border control and less stringent enforcement of immigration laws.
The Biden Administration is on track to reach ten million encounters at the southern border before the end of the fiscal year.
The U.S. Customs and Borders Protection (CBP) verified 247,837 encounters between border patrol and illegal immigrants in the month of April alone. 179,725 of those encounters took place at the southern border, a 5% increase from 2021.
CBP has also reported that under the Biden Administration, approximately two million illegal immigrants have evaded border patrol. Raul Ortiz, the then-chief of the United States Border Patrol came forward and said the total number of illegal immigrants who evade border patrol could be underreported by as much as 20%.
