Kamala Harris’ Presidential Campaign Kickstarts with Historic Fundraising Through ActBlue

ActBlue, the leading online fundraising tool for the Democratic party, revealed that following Vice President Kamala Harris’s announcement of her presidential bid, they received close to $50 million in donations within hours. This influx marked the largest fundraising day for the 2024 election cycle, with contributions amounting to $46.7 million by 9 p.m. ET, emphasizing the enthusiasm of small-dollar donors for this election.

The fundraising surge came after President Joe Biden decided not to seek re-election, choosing to support Harris instead amidst significant media and internal party pressure. Despite Biden’s endorsement, key Democratic figures such as former President Barack Obama and senior party leaders Schumer, Jeffries, and Pelosi have not publicly supported Harris.

In his endorsement, Biden highlighted his choice of Harris as his Vice President in 2020 as his best decision, urging Democrats to unify behind her to defeat Donald Trump and his Project 2025 agenda. In response, Harris committed to mobilizing the Democratic Party and the country to win the election, despite Trump not being linked to Project 2025, emphasizing the urgency with 107 days left until the election.
