RNC Highlights: Boebert Suggests Herself for Interior Secretary in Possible Trump Administration

Recently, Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado expressed her interest in becoming the Secretary of the Interior if Donald Trump were to win a future presidential election.

Speaking to Native Voice One during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Boebert humorously suggested herself for the role, highlighting her deep appreciation for public lands and her involvement with tribal lands, specifically mentioning her time with the Mountain Utes and Southern Utes.

Boebert discussed the importance of the Department of the Interior, which oversees federal lands and natural resources. She also touched upon the relocation of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) headquarters by Trump’s and Biden’s administrations, advocating for the BLM’s presence in the West to preserve local jobs.

Her conversation, which also included her views on the Antiquities Act, was part of a four-minute interview available on Native Voice One’s YouTube channel. Boebert, currently vying for a seat in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, would need to resign from the House if she were to be appointed to a cabinet position. Her campaign has yet to respond to requests for comments.
