Police Told Secret Service They Lacked Manpower: Report

Local police reportedly told the Secret Service before the July 13 rally that they lacked the necessary resources to fulfill their duties.

According to The Washington Post, the police were unable to place a patrol car outside the building where the would-be assassin was later positioned.

Butler County, Pennsylvania District Attorney Richard Goldinger said the Secret Service “was informed that the local police department did not have manpower to assist with securing that building.”

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi explained that between 20 to 30 minutes before the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, police warned the Secret Service via radio that they spotted a questionable individual.

Guglielmi added that the police officers also sent an image of the individual.
