Adam Schiff Urges Biden to Withdraw from Election Race to Preserve His ‘Legacy’

U.S. Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) has called on President Joe Biden to withdraw from the upcoming presidential race. Schiff, a prominent Democrat from California, made his appeal in a recent interview with NBC News, citing concerns about Biden’s ability to effectively lead the party to victory in the next election.

Schiff noted in the interview: “Our nation is at a crossroads. A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November.”

Schiff continued to say, “There is only one singular goal: defeating Donald Trump. The stakes are just too high.”

When asked directly if President Biden should step aside, Schiff agreed and noted it is time for him to “pass the torch” so that he might “secure his legacy of leadership by allowing us to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming election.”

The debate over Biden’s ability to run a successful campaign this year arose after his abysmal debate performance and several verbal gaffes, which led Democrats to be unconfident in his ability to beat the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

When Schiff was asked if Kamala would be a better nominee for the 2024 presidential race, he noted that she has the “experience, judgment, [and] leadership abilities to be an extraordinary president.”

Schiff argued that the party must present a candidate who can unify and inspire voters across the political spectrum.

The White House has not yet responded to Schiff’s remarks. Biden has continued to emphasize that despite backlash from his own party, he intends to see through his presidential campaign and beat Trump.

Schiff emphasized the importance of this year’s election, noting, “Everything is riding on this.”

As more elected Democrats come forward and call for the president to resign from his campaign, speculation arises about what the plan will be at the upcoming Democratic National Convention.
