Shortly after Donald Trump was found guilty in the hush money case, his campaign website crashed from a surge of donations to his second presidential campaign.
“WinRed is down due to the overwhelming amount of support out there, all across America! Stay strong, and thank you. The site will be up and running again soon!” Dan Scavino wrote on X, later adding, “WEBSITE IS BACK, LIVE!”
As individuals went to the site to donate to Trump’s campaign, a banner read, “Under Maintenance.”
“Our engineers are working to provide you with a better experience. We will be back shortly,” the statement said.
As the site came back, several individuals donated the maximum amount.
Political commentator Tim Pool wrote on social media, “I have just donated the maximum to Donald Trump.”
Writer Clay Travis wrote, “I have made a maximum individual donation to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. I will be giving much more to others as well. I’d encourage you to join me in donating whatever you can afford to Trump’s campaign as well.”
“Just secured a $800k donation from someone for President Trump’s Joint Fundraising Committee. Never experienced a massive ask that easy,” former U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY) said.
Shaun Maguire of Sequoia Capital donated $300,000 to Trump’s campaign, explaining that he believes the 2024 Presidential Election is “one of the most important elections of my lifetime, and I’m supporting Trump.”
“I know that I’ll lose friends for this. Some will refuse to do business with me. The media will probably demonize me, as they have so many others before me,” he wrote. “But despite this, I still believe it’s the right thing to do.”

The Trump campaign has raised more than $34 million in small-dollar fundraising.
According to the Trump War Room, the total amount is “nearly double the biggest day ever recorded for the Trump campaign on the WinRed platform.”
About 30% of the donors are new, RNC Research added.
