Biden Says DEI is ‘Core Strengths of America’

U.S. President Joe Biden declared that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are the “core strengths of America.”

The statement was made during Detroit’s NAACP Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner.

Biden noted that he is “proud to have the most diverse administration in history to tap into the full talents of our country.”

“I promised you when I was president I would have an administration that looked more like America,” he said. “We have more African-American, we have more women, we have more minorities in our administration than any other administration in all of history.”

In a 2021 executive order, Biden called for the federal government to be a “model for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, where all employees are treated with dignity and respect.”

“Accordingly, the Federal Government must strengthen its ability to recruit, hire, develop, promote, and retain our Nation’s talent and remove barriers to equal opportunity,” the order read. “It must also provide resources and opportunities to strengthen and advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across the Federal Government. The Federal Government should have a workforce that reflects the diversity of the American people. A growing body of evidence demonstrates that diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible workplaces yield higher-performing organizations.”

To support its stance on DEI initiatives, the Biden campaign recently advertised a position for a DEI director who would create and execute “a comprehensive strategy to attract and support diverse talent to further the campaign’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

“The director’s key responsibilities include owning the DEI strategy and DEI initiatives, reporting on the campaign’s diversity efforts, forging relationships with external DEI partners, and supporting existing diverse campaign staff,” Newsmax said of the role.
