Homeland Security Watching 600,000 Illegal Immigrants with Criminal Records

The Department of Homeland Security is monitoring more than 600,000 illegal immigrants with a criminal record, according to House National Security, Border, and Foreign Affairs Subcommittee Chairman Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI).

Grothman revealed that 617,000 illegal immigrants have either criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.

“One would think that being a criminal illegal alien, at a minimum, would make someone an enforcement priority. But it is not under the Biden administration,” Grothman said.

β€œThe fact is that illegal aliens should not be in the country in the first place and able to commit these crimes,” he added, explaining that β€œan analysis of Texas Department of Public Safety data showed that illegal aliens are more likely to be convicted of homicide, sexual assault, and kidnapping than the average Texan.”

“The solutions aren’t hard,” he stated. “Secure the border, stop releasing illegal aliens into the country in droves, and when an illegal alien commits a crime in the community, turn them over to ICE, enforce the law, and remove them. It’s just that simple.”

Sheriff Bill Waybourn of Tarrant County, which covers Fort Worth, Texas, appeared at the hearing to discuss the criminal activities of illegal immigrants.

Of the 264 illegal immigrants in custody, 178 have allegedly committed violent crimes, including 8 murders and 44 sexual assaults against children.

Sheriff Waybourn added that authorities have “solicited intelligence directly from cartel members in jail,” asking them, “Why are you killing your clients with fentanyl?”

“Their simple answer was, ‘Whatever kills the American is good with us,'” he said.

“Based on our intel, we believe – our common belief in law enforcement in that part of the world – that China, the Mexican cartel, and Venezuela is weaponizing fentanyl to use against us.”
