U.S. Reportedly Knew About Iranian Operation Prior to Strike

According to an anonymous Turkish source, the Biden administration knew about the Iranian operation against Israel prior to the strike.

Iran told Turkey of its planned action against Israel, the source said, adding that Washington “conveyed to Tehran via Ankara that any action it took had to be ‘within certain limits,'” The Jerusalem Post reported.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reportedly spoke to his US and Iranian counterparts to assess the operation.

“Iran informed us in advance of what would happen. Possible developments also came up during the meeting with Blinken, and [the United States] conveyed to Iran through us that this reaction must be within certain limits,” the Turkish source said, according to the outlet. “In response, Iran said the reaction would be a response to Israel’s attack on its embassy in Damascus and that it would not go beyond this.”

CIA Director William Burns also spoke to Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization Director, Ibrahim Kalin, asking him to serve as a “mediator” in Israel’s and Iran’s conflict, a Turkish security source reportedly said.

Following the Iranian strike against Israel, Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social, “ISRAEL IS UNDER ATTACK! This should never have been allowed to happen – This would NEVER have happened if I were President!”

American Faith reported that Biden faced criticism for his handling of escalating Middle East tensions.

“The strategy of the Biden Administration has failed miserably,” said Fawaz Gerges, a professor of International Relations and Middle Eastern Politics, in an interview with NBC News. “Biden is sleepwalking the U.S. into another catastrophic war in the Middle East.”

His overarching goal of preventing the war in Gaza from escalating into neighboring countries has failed,” Gerges noted. “Biden has failed to influence Netanyahu’s decisions either in Gaza or towards Iran.”
