Aimee Harris, the woman who took Ashley Biden’s diary, received a one-month prison sentence from a Manhattan federal court judge.
Harris pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge in 2022, admitting she sold the diary to Project Veritas for $40,000. She received $20,000.
The woman took the diary from a home in Delray Beach, Florida, where Biden stayed briefly in 2020, according to Fox News.
Judge Laura Taylor Swain said Harris’ actions were “despicable and serious.”
Co-defendant Robert Kurlander, who reportedly received the other $20,000 in the Project Veritas purchase, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transport stolen property across state lines.
American Faith reported that Project Veritas spoke with Ashley Biden, who confirmed that the diary and other items left in the Florida room were hers.
In the audio clip, Ashley Biden can be heard saying, At this point, and I don’t mean to…I don’t want to have to get the Secret Service involved at this point, right, because it just isn’t, it’s a whole process.”
“I am Ashley Biden; it is my stuff,” she said. “So if you could just give all of that over it’d be really appreciated. I know you sent a picture to my husband with a camera and a few other things that are mine as well.”
She then asked where a good place would be for her husband to meet with the reporters to receive the items.
