Donald Trump’s campaign hosted a lavish and record-breaking fundraiser on Saturday evening in Palm Beach, Florida, raking in a staggering $50.5 million at a single event.
Adding to the glamour of the occasion was the appearance of former first lady Melania Trump, who attended her second recent event in support of her husband’s campaign. Melania had previously joined Trump during a visit to a polling location in Palm Beach last month on Florida’s primary election day.
The fundraiser, reported by ABC News, was held at the residence of billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson and drew over 100 distinguished guests. Trump delivered a 45-minute speech before the dinner, which carried a suggested entry fee of $814,600 per person or $250,000 per person, according to WPTV.
Melania, known for her bold style, donned a colorful ensemble that stood out in the crowd, a beautiful floral Valentino jumpsuit.
Ahead of the event, the Trumps posed for photos with Paulson and his fiancée, Alina de Almeida, and the former president briefly spoke with reporters.
“This has been some incredible evening before it even starts because people, they want to contribute to a cause of making America great again,” Trump remarked.
Campaign advisors Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles commented on the event in a statement: “After locking up the nomination in one of the fastest primaries in modern political history, Donald J. Trump is winning poll after poll and proving that the enthusiasm is on his side. It’s clearer than ever that we have the message, the operation, and the money to propel President Trump to victory on November 5.”
Meanwhile, on the same night, supporters of President Joe Biden were sharing images of a young Jill Biden, with some claiming she was “10X more beautiful than Melania.”
However, the Biden supporters’ actions sparked controversy given Jill Biden’s past. Her ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, alleged that Jill and Joe Biden’s relationship began earlier than they publicly claim. Stevenson claimed that Jill met Joe Biden in 1972, while Joe’s first wife was still alive, contradicting the story of their blind date in 1975.
The Bidens’ version of events tells of a blind date that led to love after Jill’s marriage had ended, but Stevenson’s claims have added a layer of controversy to the couple’s narrative.
