ONGOING BORDER CRISIS:
- Compared to this time last year, the number of migrants from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania increased by over 6,000% this fiscal year.
- Egyptian arrests increased by 1,400% from last year.
- Between October and July, over 1.6 million migrants entered the United States via the Southern Border.
- An anonymous Border Patrol agent told Breitbart, “The constant barrage of migrants surrendering leaves us little else to do but replenish supplies, arrange for transport to the station, process, and get ready for the next day.”
BACKGROUND:
- American Faith reported that there was a record-high migrant family border crossings in August.
- Border Patrol detained over 91,000 migrants in August, a record topping 84,486 detainments in May 2019.
- In raw numbers, the Border Patrol made 177,000 arrests in August, an increase from 132,652 in July and 99,539 in June.
