24 people have yet to receive their payments.
QUICK FACTS:
- The U.K. government is to pay over £11.5 million in COVID-19 vaccine damages to 96 claimants, according to information from the National Health Service (NHS) Business Services Authority (NHSBSA).
- £8.6 million has already been paid out to 72 claimants under the U.K.’s Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme.
- The NHSBSA’s ‘Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme’ allows those approved to receive payment to be provided a “one-off, tax-free payment of £120,000 to successful applicants where, on very rare occasions, a vaccine has caused severe disablement,” a media fact sheet explains.
- To qualify for a vaccine damage payment, individuals must prove the COVID vaccine left them with at least 60% disablement.
- Out of the 5,708 claims received, 1,614 were rejected and 109 did not meet the standards for a medical assessment.
- 3,889 claims have not reached a final consideration.
PROCESS OF CONSIDERING CLAIMS:
- The NHS said that some claims have not been finalized because the agency has not yet received medical records from the claimant.
- Full medical records must be provided in order to begin the medical assessments.
- In order to speed up the claims process, the U.K. government “increased the number of administration staff twenty-fold,” now drawing upon efforts from 80 people.
- The media sheet adds that each claimant has been assigned to a caseworker to receive “regular updates on the progress of their claim and is given a more detailed outcome response to help claimants better understand decisions made.”
BACKGROUND:
- American Faith reported that accepted coronavirus jab injury claims have doubled since March, now 96, up from 44.
- Many of the claimants receiving payment for their vaccine injuries experienced immune thrombocytopenia, thrombosis/cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, and Guillain-Barre syndrome as a result of the shot.
