BACKGROUND:
- Bannon pleaded not guilty to a federal indictment over a similar wall-related matter and was ultimately pardoned by President Trump, describing the ordeal as a “political hit job.”
- Bannon was also convicted of contempt of Congress for deliberately disregarding a subpoena in connection to the January 6th investigation.
- Just before Biden addressed the nation on September 1, 2022, policemen appeared at Bannon’s home due to a “fake call.”
- Another politically-motivated “swatting” incident occurred in the home of Majorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), when police were notified of a shooting taking place at that address.
- Police received a second phone call from a suspect accepting responsibility for the initial call, stating they were “upset” with Greene’s opposition to transgender rights.
