Seventeen more hostages have been released by Hamas, including 4-year-old American Abigail Edan, according to a list from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.
Earlier this month, Abigail’s great-aunt Liz Hirsh Naftali revealed that the young girl’s parents were killed in their home at the Kfar Aza kibbutz.
“They saw their mother murdered. They saw their father murdered. These kids know their parents are gone,” Hirsh Naftali said. “What do you say to these kids? You give them love. You give them everything.”
Abigail, who turned 4 this past Friday, was in her father’s arms when a Hamas gunman shot him and he fell on top of her.
The young girl managed to escape to a neighbor’s house where they hid in a bomb shelter.
During today’s exchange, Israel released 39 Palestinian prisoners, all of whom were minors, according to a Qatari spokesman.
