23 Highest Ranked Medical Schools Include CRT Training

Out of the 25 top medical schools in the United States, 23 require some level of mandatory critical race theory training.

QUICK FACTS:
  • According to a new report by CriticalRace.org, the majority of prestigious medical schools in the U.S. require students to take a course related to CRT, Newsmax reported.
  • The organization behind the website, connected to the Legal Insurrection Foundation, said the training can be used as a new requirement for a specific major/department or provided for school-wide recommendations.
  • The coursework uses terms including “anti-racism,” “equity,” “DEI — diversity, equity, and inclusion,” the website states.
CORNELL LAW PROFESSOR WILLIAM JACOBSON:

“The mantra of the so-called ‘antiracism’ movement has no place in medicine. Current racial discrimination in order to remedy past racial discrimination is wrong generally, but is downright dangerous in medicine. Demanding that medical school students become activists is dangerous.”

BACKGROUND:
  • The Encyclopedia Britannica defines critical race theory as “the concept in which race is a socially constructed category ingrained in American law intended to maintain social, economic, and political inequalities between whites and nonwhites.”
  • According to CriticalRace.org, The University of Michigan Medical School’s Anti-Racism Oversight Committee says that they should, “incorporate critical race theory, health justice, and intersectionality framework into doctoring materials.”
  • The website reports that 17 of the 25 institutions also have some form of mandatory faculty/staff training.
