QUICK FACTS:
- Two Ohio Congressmen from both sides of the political aisle called for a tweet praising Jesus as Lord to be deleted.
- “There’s no hope for any of us outside of having faith in Jesus Christ alone,” tweeted former Ohio GOP operative Lizzie Marbach.
- The tweet prompted Jewish Ohio congressmen Max Miller (R) and Casey Weinstein (D) to call for the tweet to be deleted for being “bigoted.”
- Miller was endorsed by Trump in 2020 and was appointed to serve on the board of trustees for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
- “This is one of the most bigoted tweets I have ever seen,” Miller wrote. “Delete it, Lizzie. Religious freedom in the United States applies to every religion. You have gone too far.”
- Miller added in another tweet, “God says that Jewish people are the chosen ones, but yet you say we have no hope.”
- Weinstein followed Miller’s lead in demanding Marbach’s tweet be taken down, writing, “We may be on opposite sides of the aisle, but I stand right with Max on this. Delete it, Lizzie.”
MARBACH RESPONDS:
- Marbach did not delete her tweet, responding to the Congressmen, “Sorry, Congressman, but these are the words of Jesus himself. Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”
- “No one has hope outside of Jesus Christ and every knee will bow one day declaring that Jesus Christ is Lord,” she said.
- Miller ultimately ended up backing down from his criticism of Marbach’s tweet, writing, “I posted something earlier that conveyed a message I did not intend.”
- “I will not try to hide my mistake or run from it. I sincerely apologize to Lizzie and to everyone who read my post,” his tweet added.
- Weinstein also deleted his tweet.
- Marbach accepted Miller’s apology, saying, “Max, I accept your apology 100%. However the truth is that it is not me from whom you need forgiveness, but God himself. I genuinely pray you seek Him and find salvation!” and included the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant from Matthew 18:21-35.

- American Faith reported in July that a Christian Councillor was suspended by the “Conservative Party” after calling “Pride” a sin.
