Several years ago, my friend Dennis Prager wrote a piercing essay titled Notre Dame and Omen. At the time, I found it sobering. With the passage of time, it has become hauntingly prophetic. The symbolism of the fire that engulfed Notre Dame Cathedral—arguably the most renowned building in Western civilization and the iconic symbol of Western Christendom—is impossible to dismiss as mere coincidence.
